Epicor Automates Email and Fax Delivery from Their In-house Instance of Epicor ERP E10

Epicor Software Corporation, an ERP software solution provider based in Dublin, California, has purchased AventX WINDOWS from STR Software to automate invoice and purchase order delivery from their E10 ERP.

In 2011, Epicor merged with Activant Solutions, another ERP software solution provider, to become Epicor Software Corporation. Going into the merger, Activant was using Oracle EBS with STR Software’s AventX Oracle Connector for automated email and fax delivery of purchase orders and batch processing of invoices. Epicor was running E10 with another third-party software solution for their delivery requirements.

The newly-merged company decided to use E10 exclusively going forward, but they weren’t entirely happy with their incumbent delivery provider. They were not pleased with the amount of time it took to complete bursting of batch invoices for automated email, fax, and print delivery; the company required bursting five to ten thousand documents from a single PDF file in under three hours, and the incumbent solution could not deliver within these constraints.

When the new team at Epicor Software Corporation learned that STR Software had an AventX solution that would work with E10, they decided to view a demo of AventX WINDOWS. They were thoroughly impressed with the application’s ability to meet their business needs, and it would make sense to use a product that Activant had been using for years prior to the merger. After the demo, STR Software proved the power of the software with some benchmark tests: In just two hours, AventX was able to burst and deliver five batches of over 1,000 documents each, totaling 5,655 documents. In five hours, AventX burst and delivered over 14,000 documents. Aside from this huge timesaving improvement over their existing solution, Epicor cited STR Software’s support and agile in-house development team as a major benefit of moving forward with AventX. STR Software is currently working with Epicor to implement AventX and anticipates a go-live date in Q2 2013.
